21 Wks & The Bradley Method..

Our little girl is now 21 weeks!!

I have been feeling her move and kick daily which is exciting but also slightly annoying hahahha

Here is her 21 week update...

Your baby now weighs about three-quarters of a pound and is approximately 10 1/2 inches long — the length of a carrot. You may soon feel like she's practicing martial arts as her initial fluttering movements turn into full-fledged kicks and nudges. You may also discover a pattern to her activity as you get to know her better. In other developments, your baby's eyebrows and lids are present now, and if you're having a girl, her vagina has begun to form as well.

Some of you know, some of you don't.. We have decided not to tell anyone the name of the baby until she comes. We haven't decided on a name yet but we feel once we come up with one, we aren't looking for opinions and would rather keep it to ourselves until the time comes for her to be with us. We appreciate your support in our decision.

Here is carrot b! 10 1/2 inches! I think they could of found a better looking carrot hahahahaa

We had our first class with the Bradley instructor last night and weeelll, the verdict hasn't come back on how I feel about her lol

I love the method 100%, I completely feel that child birth is a natural process and drugs actaully interfere with it and cause it to take longer then it should, especially if you are not fully prepared for whats to come. I know things happen and sometimes it's necessary for some women but I do not feel I need it and am committed to doing it drug free. My mom has been such an inspiration to me during this. She knows the method and how much it works, I know I can do it too.

I just don't know how I feel about the instructor. I can agitate quite easily as most of you know and she did a couple things that I wasn't so fond of but its very possible it was the mood I was in. My mom has been super awesome with all the knowledge she has given me about the method and the first class didn't tell me much I didn't already know. The instructor gave her story, we watched an at home water birth video- the baby was 9 lbs! (the video was a little weird though), she had us talk about ourselves a little, showed us some of the exercises and relaxing positions we are supposed to be doing. The class has 3 other couples which for the first class was a little awkward, hopefully the next one wont be so weird. One thing I wasn't too happy about was that we had to sit on the ground the entire time (2 hours) and for me that's fine, but Jason cant sit on the ground that long so he was uncomfortable the whole time which I didn't think was fair. She said we sit on the ground because "birth is uncomfortable and we need to get used to it" Which is fine for me, but then making Jason uncomfortable seems unnecessary. I think he could help me more if he was comfortable and can focus on me. That's just my opinion.

We go every Monday for 10 weeks, she combines two of the classes into one so its 10 weeks instead of 12. I'm really hoping the next class is better because I wasn't as excited after the class as I was before we went. I may have expected too much plus my mom already telling me so much about it made it to where I felt like she wasn't telling me anything new. This is the first class so I'm probably judging too early.
I'm going to try and stay positive and hope the next class is better. I will keep you posted for sure!

Other then all that things are great, we have a doctor appointment on Friday YAY. Those are always fun. I really love that Jason goes to every appointment with me. I couldn't imagine sitting in the doctors office by myself. I love having the support and knowing he will always be there for me, I feel very lucky.

I really need to get back to work so I will end this by saying, I hope everyone has a great week!!

BYE!

  2. Aww, you and your husband are so cute :) The way you talk about him...very sweet.

I hope things improve with this teacher. If you hate your next class, can you find a new instructor? You might have time to take on another 12 week class if you can find one starting soon, right? My good, good friend is an instructor (bay area though), but she is one with a little lesser experience and tends to be sought after less, so she often is able to work with just one or two couples...I don't know how you went about picking your lady, but is that an option? To look at another instructor? She should be understanding if you don't feel it was a great fit.

Anywho, I hope your next class goes really well so that you don't have to worry about all that.

And for the record, because I can, I'll just say I couldn't possibly agree with you more about a drug-free birth experience. You go girl! You definitely can do it! You inspire me already, and someday when I read your birth story, I know you will even further inspire me!! (of course, my mom had two c-sections, so I'm a tad worried, I must admit. I'll be fighting with my doctor..."I DO NOT need a C-section! Look again!" haha :)

    Okay, novel over. The End.
