2ND DR APPT.

Well today and yesterday have been crazy days for me. I had my Dentist appt yesterday which was 2 hours long, and I still have to go back in 2 weeks for them to do the other side lol. It was worth it though, I'm already happier with what they did. Yesterday was my first day of feeling somewhat NORMAL. I went to the hair salon with my mom which was interesting. We will be seeing Jenn soon for some changes. I had a really good night with Jason, joking around since I actually felt good enough, until... I ate a cupcake hahahaha B doesn't like cupcakes yet.. that ended my good feeling day, luckily it was later and we went to bed soon.

JUST SAY NO TO Photobucket for now lol

TODAY was our 2nd Dr. appt. I met with Dr. Yiakis. It went really well, She was SOOO nice! All my tests were good, b's heartbeat was 160 which the Dr said was great. The only thing I was disturbed by was that they told me I was O negative. I had no idea and I talked to my mom and she said she thought I was O positive, so she is checking into it for me. If I am, I am but I would like to know what my moms records say since people can make mistakes. I was freaked about it at first because the Dr said I have to have shots to make sure my body doesn't build antibodies against b! I don't want b to be hurt and I HATE shots! Of course after talking with my nest girls they put my issues to rest, and Stef pointed out my issues with needles shouldn't be a concern since I DO have to give birth to b.. I was like hmmm that's true, having a shot is probably the least of pain I will have to deal with LOL. What would I do without you girls?!

Our next appt is in 4 weeks on 4/3, I'm going to have Jason bring the camera so we can video the heartbeat next time. I figured you all would like to hear it too!
I'm really excited to be able to re-play it!

I contacted the people who run the Bradley method birth clases. I'm really excited and hope they have room for me. I have another group I can contact but I wanted to wait until I heard from these people first. I'm really looking forward to going. My mom had ALL 7 of us without medication, using mostly the bradley method and she really recommended it. Wish me luck!! hahaha I dont start the classes until about 20 weeks or so. There are 12 classes once a week so it will be interesting to see what they teach.

We have Jasons party tomorrow and I'm super excited. I want him to have a really good time. It's such a special birthday, and YAY I'm feeling better so thats good that I can actually hang out!

We are closing up shop so that means I'm outta here LOL I will be updating you all on MONDAY when my 12 wks turns to 13!!! love you and thanks for reading :)

Week 12

Each week seems to go by so quickly now. I love these little things that tell me whats going on. Here we are at Week 12..

The most dramatic development this week: reflexes. Your baby's fingers will soon begin to open and close, his toes will curl, his eye muscles will clench, and his mouth will make sucking movements. In fact, if you prod your abdomen, your baby will squirm in response, although you won't be able to feel it. His intestines, which have grown so fast that they protrude into the umbilical cord, will start to move into his abdominal cavity about now, and his kidneys will begin excreting urine into his bladder.

Meanwhile, nerve cells are multiplying rapidly, and in your baby's brain, synapses are forming furiously. His face looks unquestionably human: His eyes have moved from the sides to the front of his head, and his ears are right where they should be. From crown to rump, your baby-to-be is just over 2 inches long (about the size of a lime) and weighs half an ounce.

We have our next appt this Friday. I'm not sure what to expect but we are very excited. My nausea is starting to go away a little to where I can do some stuff around the house. I was able to make Jason breakfast on Saturday YAY! It likes to come back randomly at times so I still need to be careful. I still get tired pretty easily so I'm not doing too much. I'm looking forward to the "energy trimester" I keep hearing about it but I havent seen it yet. I feel like all I want to do is lay down which makes me even lazier then I was before lol pooor Jason. I'm ready for it haahaha anyway day now, Im sure Jason is too ;)

Last night Jason asked Matt about his plans and that we should be finding out b's gender after this appt. We are going to want to start on b's room which is his room currently. It just makes sense since his room is the sub master with its own bathroom. We can decorate the bathroom for b and make sure it stays clean in case we have guests. He's already been looking into places downtown so he shouldn't have any issues finding a place which is good. We are sooo excited to start on b's room and get all prepared for it. Even thinking that we have to wait another month or so is just kiiiiiillling me. I REALLY want to know hahaha I want to know we can decide on little b's name, what color to do the room, what kind of furniture... It's just too exciting! We are so ready for this and even though the weeks seem to go by fast it also seems like its taking forever!! LOL Im just getting anxious to find out what b will be :)

I have a dentist appt on thursday that I'm super nervous about. I need some work done and its about time but now with the baby it just makes me nervous. The Dr. gave me a list of stuff that the dentist was okay to use but I'm going to be in there for 2 1/2 hours.. I'm hoping I dont get nauseous! ooooooh I hope its going to be ok. I would put it off If I didnt really need the work. :(
What sucks even more is that, its not just one appt.. its a 2 part appt! I have another one, 2 weeks after to finish it thats also going to be about 2 1/2 hours, I need a crown :( POOR ME! Thats what I get for not going to the dentist for 10 years ahhhhhhhhhh..

Well thats my news for the week.. I will give another update after we get back from our appt on friday!!

Today was tough

It's not even noon, its a Friday and I almost had a breakdown. Its Friday, I'm supposed to be happy but it just wasn't feeling that way today. I've been pretty positive so far but today had a different feeling for me that just made me want to cry. Luckily I was able to get through it with some comforting words from friends and my mom. I don't think I want to go all into here since they have already eased the issues for me, but basically I was having issues with the changes my body are currently going through and not feeling normal. I just feel really lucky to have these people in my life and don't know what I would do without them.

I don't really know where it came from. Probably just the hormones and being emotional. I had a really good week until this. Jason took me to see Wicked at the Orpheum theater in SF on Tuesday that was absolutely amazing. I'm hoping to see it again with Danielle since I know she will enjoy it. He let me sleep in the next day, works been pretty normal. Last night we went to outback with the guys and hung out which was nice. We are celebrating Jason's 30th birthday this Saturday with his family which should be a lot of fun. I haven't really had any wildy emotional times yet so I guess it was just a matter of time. Things can't all be rainbows and butterflies when this much is going on inside, huh.

Weelllllllllll I'm going to look forward to the rest of my day and maybe see if Jason will let me go home and nap lol... i feel drained after all this.

For all the awesome people in my life...

and I will end it with a Cyanide and happiness..

Week 11

Here we are at week 11.. Here is what they say is going on:

Photobucket

Your baby, just over 1 1/2 inches long and about the size of a fig, is now almost fully formed. Her hands will soon open and close into fists, tiny tooth buds are beginning to appear under her gums, and some of her bones are beginning to harden. She's already busy kicking and stretching, and her tiny movements are so effortless they look like water ballet. These movements will become more frequent as her body grows and becomes more developed and functional. You won't feel your baby's acrobatics for another month or two — nor will you notice the hiccuping that may be happening now that her diaphragm is forming.

Its amazing how much is going on in such a little amount of time. Luckily every now and then the nausea will pass and I feel like a regular person again. Its usually short lived but I'm happy for any type of normal feeling. Today has been tough so far. Waking up was sooo hard. I really felt like a huge rock and couldn't move. We went to bed around 10:30 which isn't too bad but for some reason getting up didn't feel like an option today. Jason let me sleep for as long as possible but then he had to help me get up to get ready. He said I could go home early so hopefully I can get everything handled and go back home.

Photobucket
Saturday was kind of a crazy day for us. Luckily for most of the day I felt good enough to do everything. We went up to clearlake to look at rental houses with his parents for when we stay there in July. We didn't end up coming home until 8:30 which was much later then we expected. As soon as we got home we had to leave to see some friends at a bar close by. We only stayed for about 2 hours, it was fun to see everyone but we had to leave once I started to get really tired.
Yesterday I had my hair cut which was REALLY needed. Jen was so nice and made a house call for me. She always does a fabulous job. Jason's sister dropped of his niece and nephew for a couple hours which was fun and dropped off some baby stuff for us which was really nice.

I'm in a weird, tired mood so its time for some random icons that I have saved...

I did say they were random :)

okay that's all for today.. I'm going to go home and rest. I'm not feeling well. bye!

Sciatic Nerve?!

I will try to keep these to once a week so I wont have a million posts but I had to write about this..

Last night, Jason and I were watching tv and all of a sudden I get this crazy sharp pain in my back from the top of my butt down my right leg. I mean SHARP! It would only do it if I bent down or moved sideways. I had read in the baby books about something growing and causing pressure to the sciatic nerve and cause sharp pains down the leg... so I'm guessing that's what it was. All I know is that it SUCKED.
We went to bed shortly and I woke up fine and it hasn't bugged me again since (crossing fingers) I'm sure at some time it will come back, but I'm hoping its not soon.

So today has been chiiillll, just working and of course that isn't fun but its work so eh. I've got most of Jason's birthday plans ironed out which is awesome. I just want him to have a good time since its such a big birthday. I was talking with my nest friends (hi girls! lol) and one had asked about lunch options and listed a couple, Buckhorn being one of them. That sounded sooo good! I messaged Jason that I wanted buckhorn for lunch and of course he was happy to hear it since he loves the place. I had the classic salad with tri tip and the honey basil vinaigrette. Jason always gets the crispy onion rings and I add those to the salad, man oh man is that good!! So lunch was fabulous today. I was telling Danielle that I was unhappy with my shirt today because the color is black and I'm in a happy mood so I wish I was wearing something bright :) Tomorrow I will!
Photobucket LOL

Tomorrow we are going to clearlake with Jason's parent to look at some houses to rent for our July trip, so that should be a lot of fun. I'm really excited about getting a house this time. I already know what I'm going to wear to make sure I'm super comfy lol. Here is it.. another one of my new dresses YAY.
Photobucket
I loove this dress its so pretty and bright! Although.. I don't know what to wear for shoes... hmmmmm.. that's going to take some thought.

Well its Friday 5pm... Jason's letting us go home early woo hoooo! Here's my Friday friend...I know its old but it still makes me giggle...

Each day feels the same.. I"m ready for some relief!

The constant nausea is quite annoying, I feel like I cant move around hardly, when I try to I feel sick and need to sit. I sit for a while and feel somewhat ok, then I move around and feel sick again. I'm eating which seems like would help but rarely does. Last night was horrible, I ate little meals through out the night to try and feel better only to lose it all when I tried to get ready for bed. I think I only have another 2 weeks of it so I"m really looking forward to feeling normal again.

One thing that was exciting was that I had ordered some Maternity clothes from Old Navy last week and they came last night. YAY. I'm wearing this today with my black boots.
Photobucket

I looove it! It is so much more comfortable to wear a dress then pants and a shirt. Pants I'm always having to undo when I sit and so of course getting up gets bothersome since I have to re button every time.. just gets annoying. I'm super excited to have some clothes that I can wear and feel comfortable in. I'm not showing really since I'm mostly bloated but geez, I feel like all my clothes shrunk about 2 sizes and nothing fits anymore. YAY for new clothes!!

Jason finally told the guys in the office that I'm pregnant. We wanted to make sure we can reassure them their files will be taken care of and we have a plan for when I wont be here.
Works been super crazy lately which makes me cringe coming in to work but Jason does let me sleep in when I'm having a rough morning and go home when I'm not feeling well which helps so much. I just want to sleep, my poor body cant take all the stress!

Tonight we are meeting up with a friend for sushi at Fro's, I love that place!! I'm really really hoping that I feel well enough to eat our favorite roll. Its cooked so I should be good to enjoy it as long as the nausea doesn't mess it up.
YAY for Photobucket

Our Exciting Addition

Jason and I had begun discussing when to begin our family after my birthday. Late November came and we knew we were ready, I went off the pill and we started to try to have our first baby. We were unsure on how long it would take and decided to keep it to ourselves until we became pregnant.

Unknown to us at the time but we had conceived in late December. Early January came when I usually have my period and it wasn't normal. I didn't think much of it figuring it had to do with the change in my body since we were trying to conceive and recently going off the pill. On January 20th when I had realized still no period I told Jason it might be possible that I was pregnant. We had bought tests previously and I decided to test that night. We were anxious and trying not to get our hopes up in case it came back negative but it was very difficult because we hoping for a positive.

We were in shock, giddy and couldn't believe it; It came back positive! One line was lighter which the test says can happen but I wanted to retest to make sure. Jason went to store and we decided to test again the next day. The same results happened on the 2nd test, one light line and one clear as day line. We laughed in disbelief that it could happen twice in a row and we decided to take a third test in the morning. Morning came, I took the test and there was no doubt, both dark lines. We were sooo excited and I scheduled my first Dr appt.

We knew we wanted to hold off on telling everyone until the first Dr appointment to make sure everything looked well. The few people we had to tell right away was my mom who has helped me so immensely through this crazy time with all her extensive knowledge , and my sister Danielle whom I see very often was a little difficult to keep it from since we talk daily but it was fun to have someone else to talk about it with. Of course all were thrilled.

Nausea started about a week after we tested which was a huge surprise since I felt fine previously. It wasn't as bad as I thought but it was good either. I pretty much kept an even nausea through out the day which was annoying but as long as I didn't move too much I was okay. Its about the same still and I'm hoping for some relief soon as the second trimester approaches.

My first Dr appointment was on February 3 at the Alhambra Sutter Health medical center. I was so nervous and had read a lot on what to expect but still wasn't sure. Jason came with me and we waited anxiously to see the Nurse Practitioner. Everyone at the office was really nice which was comforting. They brought us in and after a couple of tests, she did the ultra sound.

Here is our baby! She estimated the time to be 8wks and 2 days and by size 7wks and 5 days. She said everything looked good. Estimated due date Sept 13-17

Photobucket

She was able to show us and let us listen to the heart beat... I still cant believe it. Listening to it made it so much more real and amazing for me. I couldn't help but giggle. After the ultrasound, we spoke with her a bit and I went down to have my blood taken.

OMG is all I can say.. Not only do I hate needles but they had to take 5 vials! Jason stood there and said the last one was HUGE lol. I couldn't look, there was no way. I knew it was necessary but it really felt like it took forever.

After the appointment we knew that weekend we were ready to tell everyone. Jason called his parents to set up dinner for that night and we met with his sister a couple days later to tell them the exciting news. Jason let our roommate Matt know and I decided to post a Note/Bulletin on Facebook and Myspace to let everyone else know instead of trying to tell people individually.

Here was the announcement: I titled it letting the cat out of the bag..

"Some of you know.. Some of you don't but we're finally letting everyone know.Jason and I are having a baby! We decided in November to start trying and it looks like late December we conceived. Which explains why we have been home bodies lately lol. We didn't want to make a big deal of it in case there were complications but we feel very fortunate that there weren't. I am currently 8 weeks pregnant, we had our first Dr appt last week and it was AMAZING!!We got to listen to the heartbeat and see the ultrasound of the little baby. Everything looks good and healthy, I still can't believe how amazing it was. We are just absolutely thrilled to finally be able to tell everyone and hopefully get to see some of you this weekend. Some of you that have babies can make sense of the ultrasound but if you cant, its the bubble inside the black bubble lol... mom do you want to break it down for us? Love you all!!"

The response was very positive and everyone was excited. It was nice to be able to get it out there and not do the word of mouth thing.

I am now at 10 wks and have my next appointment set for march 6th!

I've found some great sites that tell me whats going on and I thought I would share.

Size at 10 wks Photobucket
Though he's barely the size of a kumquat — a little over an inch or so long, crown to bottom — and weighs less than a quarter of an ounce, your baby has now completed the most critical portion of his development. This is the beginning of the so-called fetal period, a time when the tissues and organs in his body rapidly grow and mature. He's swallowing fluid and kicking up a storm. Vital organs — including his kidneys, intestines, brain, and liver (now making red blood cells in place of the disappearing yolk sac) — are in place and starting to function, though they'll continue to develop throughout your pregnancy. If you could take a peek inside your womb, you'd spot minute details, like tiny nails forming on fingers and toes (no more webbing) and peach-fuzz hair beginning to grow on tender skin.In other developments: Your baby's limbs can bend now. His hands are flexed at the wrist and meet over his heart, and his feet may be long enough to meet in front of his body. The outline of his spine is clearly visible through translucent skin, and spinal nerves are beginning to stretch out from his spinal cord. Your baby's forehead temporarily bulges with his developing brain and sits very high on his head, which measures half the length of his body. From crown to rump, he's about 1 1/4 inches long. In the coming weeks, your baby will again double in size — to nearly 3 inches.

I'm very excited to keep this updated on how I'm feeling and whats going on. Thanks for reading!
