week 16

b is now 16 weeks! This Friday we meet with the doctor again, we are going to ask about an ultrasound but if they won't do it, we will have to wait until the next appt when I will be 21 weeks to ensure it’s more accurate. Which I am okay with; I would rather wait a couple weeks and make sure everything we are planning for b is correct, even though the suspense of not knowing it killing me. I WANT TO KNOW!

Here is the news on b's progress..

Get ready for a growth spurt. In the next few weeks, your baby will double his weight and add inches to his length. Right now, he's about the size of an avocado: 4 1/2 inches long (head to rump) and 3 1/2 ounces. His legs are much more developed, his head is more erect than it has been, and his eyes have moved closer to the front of his head. His ears are close to their final position, too. The patterning of his scalp has begun, though his locks aren't recognizable yet. He's even started growing toenails. And there's a lot happening inside as well. For example, his heart is now pumping about 25 quarts of blood each day, and this amount will continue to increase as your baby continues to develop.

The top of your uterus is about halfway between your pubic bone and your navel, and the round ligaments that support it are thickening and stretching as it grows. You're probably feeling a whole lot better as you settle into pregnancy, too. Less nausea, fewer mood swings, and "glowing" skin contribute to an overall sense of well-being.

Soon you'll experience one of the most wonderful moments of pregnancy — feeling your baby move. While some women notice "quickening" as early as 16 weeks, many don't feel their baby move until about 18 weeks or more. (And if this is your first baby, don't be too impatient — you may not be aware of your baby's movements until 20 weeks or so.) The earliest movements may feel like little flutters, gas bubbles, or even like popcorn popping. Over the following weeks they'll grow stronger and you'll be able to feel them much more frequently.

I know b is inside of me, but thinking about being able to FEEL b is sooo weird. Although I am curious about it, I'm okay with not feeling it right away since when it starts, it won’t stop till b is out. LOL that is something I can wait for.
I've been feeling okay, random moments of being queasy and b not liking something I ate but It’s not everyday anymore so I'm happy. I'm still trying to get use to the baby bump. I still feel a little like I have a beer belly instead of a baby bump buuuut as it grows larger and looks more obvious hopefully I will feel better about it. Dressing around the belly is really difficult when so much of my clothes don't fit me anymore. I've bought some pg clothes but not even close enough to give me the variety I like.. I feel like I'm wearing the same thing over and over again. It’s driving me crazy. This is what I look like trying to get ready...

hahaha maybe not that bad but you know it was funny!

This weekend was great. Jason got up early on Saturday and cleaned everything in the backyard. I was so happy on how beautiful it was. After he finished up, he bbq'd some hamburgers and we enjoyed the nice weather. I really love being outside, it makes me feel so much better. Although Sunday was pretty, it was crazy windy. Too windy for me and we stayed inside mostly lol One thing I can't stand is wind. Why must wind ruin such a beautiful weekend day! I made butterscotch bars Saturday night and oh wow are they awesome! I got the recipe out of my cooking light magazine so it’s half the fat and calories of the regular recipe but seriously there is no way to tell. They were great! I really enjoy trying new things to make, especially if they come out good :)

We were watching TV last night and a commercial for donuts came on. I hardly ever crave donuts, and then I saw that commercial lol. I want a sprinkle donut soooooo bad hahahaahaha I'm trying to resist though. I want to make sure I don't eat too many sweets since I don't want to gain too much (bad) weight while being pregnant. I'm hoping to start yoga and some pregnancy workouts soon to try and keep somewhat in shape and hopefully be able to get back in shape once b arrives. I have all winter to get back in shape; hopefully it won’t be too difficult. My mom never really had any problems losing the baby weight and was always pretty thin, so mom you better gave me those genes! lol

Danielle was over for most the weekend which is always a lot of fun. She has this really old picture of us at our grandparents house. I had her bring it over so I could scan it in. I just have to share it.

Outside is calling me

What is it about Friday that makes you want to stop working and play? Is it that its so close to being the weekend and all you want to do is be outside in the beautiful weather? I'm sitting here, staring out the window with my face against the window like a little kid..well maybe not but that's what I want to do. Its just so beautiful and warm, its calling me name!! I HEAR IT!! I'm hoping that Jason gets the Friday bug and wants to leave early today, sitting outside just sounds soooo nice. I need some color!! I"m getting pastey over here aaaahhhhh. I'm not supposed to be inside this much!

Anyway, This week went by pretty fast and I'm pretty sure b is doing well. We went to Tokyo Fro's on Tuesday with my sister Danielle and Julie. She bought me the cutest frame for b. I love it and can't wait to put it up! I've been looking for a frame like that for a while but didn't see anything close enough to what I wanted and somehow she found the perfect one! Jules I know you are reading this, so really thank you! :) Also the little bunny is super cute.

I went to the dentist on Wednesday for them to finish up my crown and the rest of the work I needed. Luckily it was only an hour instead of the 2 1/2 last visits. Wow that was brutal but necessary. Now my teeth are aaall good again. YAY!

Not much happened yesterday and now we are at FRIDAY and I'm obviously really excited for the beautiful weather we are supposed to have this weekend. I was so bummed last weekend that it was ugly and cold and we didn't even get that much rain. If its going to be ugly and ruin the day, It might as well rain and do something good with it, but it didn't oh well. I need to move on, its just weather huh lol... I juuuust cant help it! The weather effects my mood!

Tomorrow we are hanging out in the backyard and bbq'n with friends. I'm reallylooing forward to it. Should be a great time. I have to remind Jason to turn the solar on for the pool so it gets all nice and warm for these wonderful days. I have just a couple plants to replace in the backyard and the front only needs about 3, I dont need too but I want to. I hate when plants don't make it. It actually really irriates me and I just want to toss it and start all over with a new one lol I will get it right this season!! Well thats about it for today.. Maybe I will get some pics of us this weekend to post.

Week 15

It's Tuesday.. Time for the weekly update on b..


Your growing baby now measures about 4 inches long, crown to rump, and weighs in at about 2 1/2 ounces (about the size of an apple). She's busy moving amniotic fluid through her nose and upper respiratory tract, which helps the primitive air sacs in her lungs begin to develop. Her legs are growing longer than her arms now, and she can move all of her joints and limbs. Although her eyelids are still fused shut, she can sense light. If you shine a flashlight at your tummy, for instance, she's likely to move away from the beam. There's not much for your baby to taste at this point, but she is forming taste buds. Finally, if you have an ultrasound this week, you may be able to find out whether your baby's a boy or a girl! (Don't be too disappointed if it remains a mystery, though. Nailing down your baby's sex depends on the clarity of the picture and on your baby's position. He or she may be modestly curled up or turned in such a way as to "hide the goods.")

OMG can you believe it!!! b might be trying to hide the goods!! I checked it out and my next appt is April 3rd which means will be almost 17 weeks. I really want to check to see if they can tell us what b is but Jason is feeling a little unsure since he wants to make sure its going to be accurate. We will talk to the Dr and see what they say when we are there.



This weekend wasn't too exciting but as exciting as things are going to be for now lol. We went to Costco on Saturday since it was so ugly and played Mario galaxy for the rest of the day. Sunday was a little nicer and we ran same errands with Danielle. We went to bed bath and beyond, saw Keefe working which was funny. Got some new stuff for the downstairs bathroom, and cute wall art YAY! We also went to home depot to replace some plants in the backyard and for Danielle to bring some life to her apartment. I didn't get everything for the backyard just 2 of the plants but I shouldn't need that much more. I wanted to get the 2 in since I'm hoping they get some more growth during the spring to try and catch up with the rest of the plants before summer comes.

We planted Danielle's new plants in pots and headed over to her apartment. She named this one B (note its B not b)

We spent a couple hours moving things around and she is really happy with the way everything looks with the plants she bought. It's still a work in progress, but we are happy for what we were able to do so far; its very "Danielle" lol.

It's a beautiful morning!

I can't say how happy it makes me to see how beautiful it is outside, although I will be at work I can look out the window and dream about the day ending to start our weekend. I really hope it stays this way at least for tomorrow. If it stays this nice, we will be having people over to hang out in the backyard and BBQ tomorrow. Everyone is free to join. I will be happy just to be outside when its nice. oooh the beautiful suuuuun

Jason and his dad finished the flooring in the upstairs guest bathroom. We still have to change out the mirror, lights and possibly cabinet though. Trying to see how I feel about the current one staying there. We got some new towels and curtain for it that I love. I couldn't find everything I liked last night so maybe we will check out some other places this weekend. As some of you know the bathroom was carpeted, they put down wood laminate. My before pictures were after they tore up the floor obviously lol, they started earlier then I expected. When we finish the mirrors and lighting I will post another one with it completely finished.

They found an unexpected surprise under the linoleum by the bath, MOLD! That shower has only been used about 5 times while we have lived there so we are guessing its from the previous owners. Jason had fun getting rid of it and changing out the board lol

Well thats what we have been working on. The downstairs bathroom is next but it wont be as much since we aren't changing out the tile, just mirror and lights with new decor, and when Matt moves out we are going to redo that bathroom for the baby!! We are sooo excited!

Speaking of b... I've been doing pretty well, still tired especially after a lot of walking so I'm not able to do tooo much but its better then nothing. Our next appt is coming up pretty soon I think the 4th of April but I'm not positive. I'm going to see if they will do the ultrasound to tell us what b is. Jason is a little weary about doing it this time because he wants to make sure its as accurate as possible. I think it should be okay but you never know.
I have a baby bump pic.. I dont like it and I ALMOST didn't post it. I feel weird about it hahahaha I'm going to be 15 weeks on Monday and I feel rounder then I should be although I'm on track for how much weight I've gained. I guess its just still weird for me since I've always been pretty thin and having a protruding belly is just weird.. oh well, here it is... ahhhh

Week 14

Monday is here once again and little b is progressing just nicely.. here we are at 14 weeks which I believe is 3 1/2 months! aaahhhh little b little b growing so quickly!

This week's big developments: Your baby can now squint, frown, grimace, pee, and possibly suck his thumb! Thanks to brain impulses, his facial muscles are getting a workout as his tiny features form one expression after another. His kidneys are producing urine, which he releases into the amniotic fluid around him — a process he'll keep up until birth. He can grasp, too, and if you're having an ultrasound now, you may even catch him sucking his thumb.In other news: Your baby's stretching out. From head to bottom, he measures 3 1/2 inches — about the size of a lemon — and he weighs 1 1/2 ounces. His body's growing faster than his head, which now sits upon a more distinct neck. By the end of this week, his arms will have grown to a length that's in proportion to the rest of his body. (His legs still have some lengthening to do.) He's starting to develop an ultra-fine, downy covering of hair, called lanugo, all over his body. Your baby's liver starts making bile this week — a sign that it's doing its job right — and his spleen starts helping in the production of red blood cells. Though you can't feel his tiny punches and kicks yet, your little pugilist's hands and feet (which now measure about 1/2 inch long) are more flexible and active.

This week should be pretty kick back, just normal work and probably go to lowes to look into some of my home improvement ideas muahahahaaha. Jason put the flooring down this weekend in one of the upstairs bathrooms, toilet still has to be put back which I think he is doing tonight, so on friday when I update I will post a pic . :)

Today has been a great day so far. I feel great, although I don't want to take it for granted because who knows what will happen next. I think as long as I stay fed I should be okay hahahaha
b is just hanging out like usual. I guess the only crazy thing this week was my whole crown incident which I already wrote about. I have been loving the outdoors lately, these last couple days all I want to do is be outside, the fresh air is sooo nice. I really hate being inside, probably because I wasn't able to be out much for the most part. I'm so glad it's nice and hope it gets warm enough to hang out.
I can picture it now ...This is me, chillin outside (Yes I used paint LOL I'm orange because even though I can't tan and there were no other colors but white and dark brown and that wasn't going to work hahahaha)
breeeaathing in the fresh air.. Oh how I wish I was there RIGHT NOW!!


This weekend should be pretty chill. I do want to try and work on the backyard some, Not all our plants made it through the winter, maybe start looking at some bathrooms mirrors and sinks. I REALLY want to redo the bathrooms. I'm so tired of the track home look and Jason agreed. He already bought the flooring so hopefully I can get him to start working on it. I should take pictures huh... I feel like it doesn't seem like a lot but at the same time it does. Jason had me made a list because I'm always saying "I want to change this" LOL I cant help it. I think we would enjoy our house more if we made changes to it. It's not homey enough I guess.
I will take pictures of everything and then add what I want to do to it next week. I guess this is my energy wanting to clean and change things stage LOL. Thats about it for this weekend we really have no plans except for watching my little sister play volleyball on Sunday which should be fun.

It's friday, I'm hoping today goes by quickly which so far, it hasn't! It's only about noon.. ooh hopefully Jason isn't too slammed today and we can head out early haaha I HAVE THE FRIDAY JITTERBUG!! LET ME OOUT! LOL



Okay well thats it for friday I guess.. nothing too exciting since I'm feeling better BUT Monday we have 14 weeks YAY..

Fridays cyanide and happiness

This isn't baby related, just me related lol

I mentioned a while ago about going to the dentist, well last week they did part of the work and I go back in about 2 weeks for them to finish up and put the permanent crown on.. The appt. went really well and I'm not even worried about going back to them to finish. I'm actually looking forward to it since finally all these problems will go away YAY. Weeell yesterday I was eating something and I felt it pop, OOPS, I don't even think I was even chewing on that side but ooh well.. so I was able to pop it back on (Ew) and thought I would ride it out until my appt. I was really nervous though cause I could feel the crack and it was weird, hoping it wouldn't pop off again.
We went to Jason's parents last night and his mom said it wasn't a good idea cause I could swallow it. I hadn't really thought about it but it made me super paranoid. I called today and they fit me right in and fixed it which was really nice. Now I'm super scared to eat anything on that side hahahaha OH I hope it doesn't happen again!!! So boys and girls always floss when brushing your teeth..

13 weeks

Here we are again, another week down at 13 weeks!

What's funny, since everything I follow goes by weeks, when people ask how far I am. My response is of course in weeks. They have like this confused look trying to figure it out in months hahahhaha its kinda funny. I'm sooooo looking forward to when we can find out what gender b is.
Jason and I were looking at baby furniture this weekend, seeing all the different bedding designs made me JUST that more anxious. Not being able to know what kind we can pick out drives me craaazzy lol I wanna know I wanna know! b if you have ESP teeeelll meeeeeee :)

I've been a little back and forth with how I've been feeling which is kind of annoying. I had one really good day and the rest so far have been so so. I feel okay but not great, then at times I feel tired and then times where I don't want to move, but then there was a time where I just wanted to be outside lol It's getting very confusing. I think I just needed fresh air. I can't wait till it's nice enough and I can just hang out in the back yard by the pool.

Okay well back to the progress of little b..

Fingerprints have formed on your baby's tiny fingertips, her veins and organs are clearly visible through her still-thin skin, and her body is starting to catch up with her head — which makes up just a third of her body size now. If you're having a girl, she now has more than 2 million eggs in her ovaries. Your baby is almost 3 inches long (the size of a medium shrimp) and weighs nearly an ounce.

ookkay so I have a couple pictures for this week.. The site where I get the info said a shrimp, which seemed weird since that to me is smaller then a lime, I found another site that said a peach but that seems too large oh well.. heres the pic..

I also have one that hopefully isn't weird hahahaha it shows a pic of what the baby is kinda like right now.

I liked this one because it looks like a baby! b is a baby not fruit :) YAY
